NEXT STEPS

Lost and Found Chair, Mary-Ellen King, is delighted to announce that Lost and Found will return in 2023 after a three-year period of self-imposed hibernation.

King says: “I am thrilled to announce the new artistic leadership team of Mel Cantwell and Mark Coughlan as Co-Artistic Directors of Lost and Found. Highly respected practitioners, Mel and Mark are the ideal team to lead Lost and Found into its next stage of growth and development.”

King has been joined on the Board by one of Australia’s most respected arts leaders Margaret Seares, and Chris van Tuinen continues his association with the company as a board member together with Tom Stephens, Kate Lewis and David Jones.

The company’s first new production in 2023 will be Maurice Ravel’s rarely heard opera L’Heure Espagnole, an intricate comedy about a feisty Spanish clockmaker’s wife juggling three lovers during a single afternoon while her husband is out on business. Ripe for reinvention, Ravel’s sumptuous music and humorous characterisations provide excellent material for Cantwell and Coughlan to create an engaging and entertaining production to relaunch the company.
